Effective communication is key to setting the stage for a fantastic mini session. Here’s how to nail it:

  • Pre-Session Email: Send a comprehensive email addressing every potential question. Include details like the session location, parking instructions, what to expect, and any other pertinent info. This not only prepares your clients but also boosts their confidence in your professionalism.
  • Styling Guide: Share a styling guide that includes outfit suggestions, color schemes, and example photos. The more information you provide, the better your clients will feel prepared.
  • Questionnaire: Use a client management system like Sprout Studio to send out a questionnaire. Ask about their children’s names, ages, and any special needs. This helps you tailor the session to their specific needs and ensures everything runs smoothly.

Make your mini session as smooth and enjoyable as possible:

  • Seclusion: Ensure your mini session location is as private as possible. For instance, in my studio, I ask clients to stay in their cars until they receive a text from me. This eliminates distractions and ensures that each client gets your full attention, making the experience more focused and pleasant.

Under-Promise and Over-Deliver 🎁📈

One of the best ways to wow your clients is by exceeding their expectations:

  • Fast Delivery: Promise delivery within seven business days, but aim to deliver the photos within a few hours of the session. This quick turnaround not only surprises and delights your clients but also generates positive feedback and repeat business.
