Oh, the hospital bag. This is my second time to pack my bags for a baby hospital stay. The first time I did absolutely no planning. I packed like I would a weekend trip… and let’s just say I’m thankful there were people to run to the store for me.

Because I’m having my baby during the Covid-19 crisis, I’ve had to plan extra carefully since only my husband can be in the hospital with me.

I’ve broken my list into category by person (me, baby, dad) and by what I can pack in advance and what I need to pack right before leaving the house (am I the only one who want to have their own toothbrush and hairbrush when away from home?)

MOM

Toiletries

The hospital will provide diapers and wipes but I went ahead and added some so that it would be ready for our first outing. 

DAD

  • Socks
  • Toiletries if not allowed to leave hospital due to Covid-19 and not using moms
  • A place for him to sleep. We are bringing a reclining lawn chair. Some people have even brought a blowup mattress.
