Believe it or not, you CAN have a stress free Christmas morning! We are nearing the end of the holiday season. Since Halloween, we have been going full force, and sometimes by the time Christmas hits we are exhausted. Keep reading to find out some things I do to make Christmas morning run smoothly for my family.
Stress Free Christmas Morning Traditions

Don’t think of doing something the same every year as boring. Think of it as a tradition. You are getting better and better at the tradition every time you do it. One tradition I have can be a bit controversial: we stay home on Christmas morning, and you can too! Protect your time. It IS allowed. I told my family this from the get-go. Christmas morning is for memories with my boys. One way I am able to do this is by inviting my parents and my husband’s parents to join us for Christmas morning breakfast.
Christmas Morning Recipes to Cook
When it comes to food to cook on Christmas morning, stick to tried and true recipes only. Now is not the time to try those Pinterest finds for the first time. Now is the time for frozen foods with almost zero clean up, and make-ahead foods. The best thing I have found for my family is a make-ahead breakfast casserole. I can mix it up the day before and pop it in the oven in the morning. It is a hit every time!
Stress-Free Cleaning Tips
Nobody said you have to set the table on Christmas morning. Set the table the day before, two days before, really, you could set it a week before! That is one less thing on your to do list for the morning. Another tip is to empty your dishwasher! Do whatever you need to do to have your dishwasher completely empty. Think about it: if someone doesn’t live in your house they don’t know where everything goes when it is time to wash the dishes, but if the dishwasher is empty, anybody can help clean up! A clean kitchen goes a long ways in having a stress free Christmas morning!
